Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- Darma Mangkuluhur Hutomo, son of Tommy Soeharto, poured IDR 1.2 trillion to build a golf course in Sentul, Bogor, West Java.
The golf course will be managed by PT Intra GolfLink Resorts aka IGR where he is the commissioner.
So where does Darma's wealth come from?
Darma has a number of businesses, both inherited from President Suharto's business octopus, whatever he manages himself. One of them is IGR which was founded in 2005.
This company has four subsidiaries, including PT Sentul Golf Utama which manages Palm Hills Golf Club Bogor, PT New Kuta Golf And Ocean View which manages New Kuta Golf Ball, PT Belitung Golf And Resorts which manages Black Rocks Hotel & Golf Belitung, and PT New Kuta Condotel which operates in the property and tourism sector.
This 25 year old man also holds the position of commissioner at PT Wisma Purnayudha Putra. The company managed by his father operates in the exclusive and premium property sector in Jakarta, such as the Mangkuluhur City Office Tower.
Darma's coffers also come from his position as president of PT Humpuss Land, which is a subsidiary of the Humpuss Group. The company, which is also owned by his father, operates in the property, construction and real estate sectors.
Meanwhile, the businesses he manages himself include Lounge In The Sky Jakarta, the first fine dining restaurant in Indonesia which provides a dining experience by enjoying the atmosphere of Jakarta at a height of 50 meters.
There is also BOCA RICA Tapas Bar & Lounge, a Spanish-style restaurant operating in Jakarta.
Before entering the world of business, Darma completed his high school studies at Overseas Family School, Singapore in 2016. Then, he continued his studies at EU Business School, Barcelona, Spain and graduated in 2019.
Apart from business, Darma is also active in the world of sports. He has been involved in the world of racing since he was 8 years old. At that time, Darma had entered the Humpuss Junior Racing Team which was part of the Humpuss Group.
He also took part in many national and international racing competitions, such as the 2012 Asia Karting Open Championship when he was 14 years old. Apart from that, he also participated in 6 series of Asia Cup Formula Master (2014) to Asian Formula Renault (2015).
