Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Darma Mangkuluhur Hutomo, Tommy Soeharto's eldest son is now in the public spotlight after disbursing an investment of IDR 1.2 trillion to build a golf course in Sentul, Bogor, West Java. These funds were disbursed through PT Intra GolfLink Resorts (IGR).
Quoting CNNIndonesia, Thursday (8/2/2024), the man who is often called the 'Prince of Sandalwood' holds the position of commissioner at IGR. Apart from that, he also owns and leads a number of companies, both inherited and self-built.
One of them, Darma, is a commissioner at PT Wisma Purnayudha Putra, a company owned by his father. Darma also leads PT Humpuss Land, a subsidiary of the Humpuss Group which operates in the property, construction and real estate sectors.
Last year, Darma's business caused quite a stir among the residents of the capital city. He created Lounge in The Sky Jakarta, the first fine dining restaurant in Indonesia at a height of 50 meters.
The opening of the restaurant was attended by a number of public figures and officials, such as the Minister of Tourism Sandiaga Uno and Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo, racer Ananda Mikola,
Apart from that, he also owns the restaurant BOCA RICA Tapas Bar & Lounge, a Spanish restaurant in Jakarta.
In terms of education, Darma completed high school at Overseas Family School, Singapore, in 2016, and studied at EU Business School, Barcelona, Spain, graduating in 2019.
Apart from doing business, he has also been active in racing since the age of 8, taking part in various national and international competitions, including the 2012 Asia Karting Open Championship and the 2015 Asian Formula Renault.
